Complexity Management with the K-Method

This book consists of four parts which describe different aspects of the K-Method.
The first part, “Introduction”, describes the K-Method using an example. This
part tries to give the reader a feeling of how the K-Method and especially its price
formulas work and what kind of advantages are to be expected. This part also
describes the problems which could arise when a supplier begins to use the
K-Method. Such problems can be expected since both sides—the buyer and especially
the supplier—possibly will be reluctant to apply the K-Method—particularly
when using the K-Method for the first time. This part discusses typical objections
brought forward by the parties and how to mitigate them. The purpose of the first
part of the book is to convince buyers and suppliers to use the K-Method in their
business relationships.
The second part of the book, “Elaboration”, deals with selected problems
which occur when dealing with price formulas. These problems arise when buyers
and suppliers are in the process of negotiating a price formula. Hence, this part of
the book is relevant once buyers and suppliers have agreed to introduce the
K-Method.
